Steps to Give Permissions to BI Connector User in Oracle Fusion Cloud Accounts

Modified on Mon, 13 Jan at 4:51 AM

The following roles are required for the BI Connector user in Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP/HCM/SCM/CX applications:

  1. BI Author

  2. BI Publisher Data Model Developer
    (or)
    Application Developer

  3. Additional roles and privileges as required based on the data you want to access.

How do I find the additional roles required for the Fusion account that I intend to use with the BI Connector?

The additional roles and privileges are determined based on the data you wish to connect to.

For example, if you want to connect to the Budgets data in Oracle Fusion, the Budget Manager, Budget Analyst roles can be assigned to the account. If you’re intending to use an Oracle Service Account with the BI Connector, the easiest way to add the required list of roles is to fetch all the roles from the actual user performing the integration, and add them all to the Service Account.

Does the BI Connector honor the custom roles in Oracle Fusion?

Yes, the BI Connector honors the custom roles created in the Oracle Fusion.

Does the BI Connector honor the role hierarchies in Oracle Fusion?
Yes, the BI Connector honors the role hierarchies in Oracle Fusion. For example, if you add the “BI Administrator” role to an Oracle account, that account will automatically inherit the "BI Publisher Data Model Developer" and the "BI Author" roles, and will be able to connect to Data Models, and Analysis reports using the BI Connector.
