Before you start
- You have published your report and its semantic model to the Power BI Service. If not, see Connect Power BI Desktop to Oracle BI (Legacy Flow).
- You have created the gateway connection to your BI Connector Data Source. If not, see Power BI: Create a Gateway Connection to the BI Connector Data Source.
Steps
Step 1 — Open the semantic model settings
In your workspace, find the semantic model (dataset) for your published report. Click the three dots (More options) next to it and select Settings.
Step 2 — Open Gateway and cloud connections
On the settings page, expand Gateway and cloud connections.
Step 3 — Select your gateway
Under On-premises data gateway, make sure the gateway running BI Connector is selected.
Step 4 — Map the connection to the semantic model
In the Maps to column, select the gateway connection you created in Power BI: Create a Gateway Connection to the BI Connector Data Source from the drop-down.
Step 5 — Apply
Click Apply. Your semantic model is now mapped to the gateway connection.
Step 6 — Set up scheduled refresh
To automate the refresh, expand Refresh on the same settings page, turn on scheduled refresh, set the frequency and times, and click Apply.
Tip — Turn on refresh failure notifications so you are emailed if a scheduled refresh fails.
Done! Your report's semantic model refreshes through the gateway connection on the schedule you set, keeping your Oracle BI data current.
