Before you start
- A pre-built Power BI dashboard (.pbix) provisioned by the BI Connector team.
- A Power BI Dataflow already created and refreshed with the required table(s). If not, create it first: Power BI Dataflow for Oracle Fusion: Steps to Connect Using BI Connector and Automate Refresh.
- Power BI Desktop installed and signed in.
Part A — Point the pre-built dashboard to your Dataflow
Step 1 — Open the pre-built dashboard
Open the .pbix file provided by the BI Connector team in Power BI Desktop.
Step 2 — Get the Workspace ID and Dataflow ID
Login to Power BI Service. Navigate to the workspace, click on the three dots across the Dataflow of your interest, and select Edit. The Dataflow will open with the following URL pattern:
https://app.powerbi.com/groups/WorkspaceId/dataflows/DataflowId?experience=power-bi
/groups/ and /dataflows/ is the Workspace ID. The value between /dataflows/ and the ?is the Dataflow ID. Copy both exactly.
Step 3 — Get the table name(s)
As soon as the Dataflow page loads, copy the exact table name shown, including the full string that appears after the report name.
Step 4 — Open Edit Parameters
On the ribbon, click the down arrow next to Transform Data, then click Edit Parameters.
Step 5 — Enter the parameter values
Paste the Workspace ID, Dataflow ID, and table name(s) into their matching parameters, then click OK.
Step 6 — Apply and load your data
Apply any prompted changes. The dashboard instantly populates with your Oracle Fusion data.
Part B — Publish the report
Step 7 — Publish to the Power BI Service
On the Home ribbon, click Publish. Sign in if prompted, choose the destination workspace, and click Select. When the upload finishes, click the link in the success message to open the report in the Power BI Service.
