Before you start
- Tableau Desktop is installed and you are signed in to your Tableau Cloud or Tableau Server account.
- You have a Published Data Source with Oracle Fusion data that you can access on Tableau Cloud or Server. If not, publish the Data Source first using the steps in Connect Tableau Desktop to Oracle Fusion and Publish a Data Source.
Part A — Connect to the Published Data Source
Step 1 — Open Tableau Desktop and sign in
Open Tableau Desktop and sign in to your Tableau Cloud or Tableau Server account.
Step 2 — Connect to your server
On the Connect pane, under To a Server, click Tableau Server (or your Tableau Cloud site). Sign in if prompted.
Step 3 — Select the Published Data Source
Find and select your Published Data Source (use the search box to locate it by name), then click Connect.
Part B — Add transformations as required
Step 4 — Add calculated fields and other analysis
In the Data pane, create the transformations your analysis needs — calculated fields, groups, sets, and parameters — and apply filters as required.
Part C — Build the dashboard
Step 5 — Build your worksheets
Build one or more worksheets: drag fields onto Columns and Rows, choose a visualization from Show Me, and refine the marks, filters, and formatting.
Step 6 — Assemble the dashboard
Click New Dashboard. Drag your worksheets onto the canvas, then add titles, filters, and legends, and arrange the layout.
Step 7 — Save the workbook
Save your workbook from File > Save.
Part D — Publish back to Tableau Cloud or Server
Step 8 — Publish the workbook
Click Server > Publish Workbook. Choose the Project, give the workbook a clear Name, set permissions as needed, then click Publish.
