Before you start
- The server runs Windows Server 2016 or later (works on Windows Server running on Cloud VMs too).
- You have administrative privileges to install software on the server.
- You have access to the BI Connector Server Edition installer (download link below), or a guided trial.
Steps
Step 1 — Download the installer
On the server, download the BI Connector Server Edition installer from the BI Connector download page. The installer is usually saved to your Downloads folder.
Step 2 — Run the installer as Administrator
Locate the downloaded installer in your Downloads folder, right-click it, and select Run as administrator.
Important — If the installer does not launch or shows a permissions error, make sure you selected Run as administrator. Installation needs elevated privileges.
Step 3 — Complete the installation wizard
- Accept the license agreement and click Next.
- (Optional) select Create a desktop shortcut, then click Next.
- Click Install, wait for the installation to complete, then click Finish.
