Before you start
- Your PC runs Windows 10 or later. Works on Windows machines running on Cloud VMs too.
- You have administrative privileges to install software on the PC.
- You have access to the BI Connector installer (download link below), or a guided trial.
This guide covers installing the BI Connector Desktop Edition only. Activating your license is covered in the next step.
Steps
Step 1 — Download the installer
Download the BI Connector Desktop Edition installer from the BI Connector download page. The installer is named similar to BIConnectorDesktopSetup.exe and is usually saved to your Downloads folder.
Step 2 — Run the installer as Administrator
Locate the downloaded installer in your Downloads folder, right-click it, and select Run as administrator.
Important — If the installer does not launch or shows a permissions error, make sure you selected Run as administrator. Installation needs elevated privileges.
Step 3 — Complete the installation wizard
- Accept the license agreement and click Next.
- (Optional) select Create a desktop shortcut, then click Next.
- Click Install, wait for the installation to complete, then click Finish.
